With an interim chair currently in place, we’re on the lookout for a new chair, to drive forward our plans and support our existing board team. We’re looking for someone who’s strategic, diplomatic and visible – with great ties to the area, and the wider city.
The chair’s roles include:
1. Lead the Board
- Organise dates for and run board meetings, guiding board members to make informed decisions, promote constructive discussions and ensure board effectiveness
- Set the tone and expectations to ensure accountability and professionalism
2. Strategic direction and oversight
- Strategic direction of the organisation by making sure portfolio holders are carrying out the work of their agreed portfolios to stay focused on our mission – this includes making sure that legal requirements are met by the secretary
- Be responsible for the Baltic Triangle’s role in proposed Independents BID, representing the area and speaking to local stakeholders
- Liaise with council and other stakeholders, and represent the area at external meetings and workshops
3. Facilitate Board communication and cohesion
- Facilitate communication and promote cohesion within the board
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, encouraging open dialogue and mutual respect
