Baltic Chair

With an interim chair currently in place, we’re on the lookout for a new chair, to drive forward our plans and support our existing board team. We’re looking for someone who’s strategic, diplomatic and visible – with great ties to the area, and the wider city.

The chair’s roles include:

1. Lead the Board

  1. Organise dates for and run board meetings, guiding board members to make informed decisions, promote constructive discussions and ensure board effectiveness
  2. Set the tone and expectations to ensure accountability and professionalism

2. Strategic direction and oversight

  1. Strategic direction of the organisation by making sure portfolio holders are carrying out the work of their agreed portfolios to stay focused on our mission – this includes making sure that legal requirements are met by the secretary
  2. Be responsible for the Baltic Triangle’s role in proposed Independents BID, representing the area and speaking to local stakeholders
  3. Liaise with council and other stakeholders, and represent the area at external meetings and workshops

3. Facilitate Board communication and cohesion

  1. Facilitate communication and promote cohesion within the board
  2. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, encouraging open dialogue and mutual respect

Residents Representative

Live in the Baltic Triangle? We’re also really keen for resident representatives on the board – either in one of the formal roles, or as a resident advocate. If you live within the area and are keen to get more involved, drop us an email at hello@baltictriangle.co.uk and tell us a little about yourself. Please include relevant info if you’re interested in one of the formal roles.

Communications Director

As Communications Director for Baltic Triangle CIC, you’ll be the voice of the Baltic Triangle. Creating a strategic plan that ties in with our business plan, you’ll use social media, email marketing and other comms platforms to share inspiring stories about Baltic’s businesses and keep the community informed about area updates and exciting events. You’ll also monitor our email inbox and respond to inquiries. This role is perfect for somebody who lives or works in the heart of the Baltic Triangle, is connected with the local businesses, and is enthusiastic about sharing  the amazing things happening here. We’re also conscious that this volunteer role can be pretty time consuming, so we’re open to applications from people who’re keen to share the role, too.

  1. Financial admin, including filing year end accounts with the accountant
  2. Completing the annual CIC 34 report to the list under annual accounts – a snapshot of our activities over the last accounting year
  3. Invoicing, paying bills and checking payments
  4. Taking minutes at board meetings and circulating to the board
  5. Administrating the Baltic Triangle Google Drive
  6. Appointing and removing directors on Companies House
  7. Providing information and background for funding bids/ projects
  8. With other directors, responding to enquiry emails where needed
  9. Fundraising / sponsorship support, and general events and project support, with other board members
